Tasting Notes
The villages of Comblanchien and Corgoloin are renowned for their carrieres, stone quarries which dramatise the sloping vineyard landscape. This wine displays an intense garnet hue, with the nose initially restrained and then building with air to encompass red cherries, blackberries, wet stone and baking spices. There is an attack of dark red fruit on the palate, tannins are pliant and well integrated, the wine fills the mouth and aromas extend beyond rich fruit into smoked meats and earth. Oak plays a supporting role, framing the opulent and powerful fruit profile.
