This rosé is an attractive pale pink with a delicate orange blush – the nose somewhat reticent at first but then opening up to reveal smoky strawberry, musk, vanilla cream and red fruits. The palate is fresh and balanced with orchard fruits, mixed berries, red currant, fennel and tangerine flavours, melding sweet and savoury notes with a chalky, powdery texture that promotes length and a clean, dry finish.
Drink at its best over the coming Spring and Summer.
Made from a gentle and short extraction to obtain only the lightest tinges of pinks from the red grape skins. After extraction, the wine is largely made in the same way as white wine. The juice ferments naturally in older French oak and the lees are stirred weekly from later in the fermentation until dry. During the short oak maturation, partial malolactic occurs. The wine was minimally fined and filtered prior to bottling.
