Tyson Stelzer, Wine Taste Weekly, January 2012
"2009 was an impressive season in Burgundy and produced the strongest set of Marchand & Burch wines I've seen yet. This is the pick of them (and it's not the most expensive). Deep black cherry and plum skin fruit are enhanced with notes of nutmeg, cherry kernel, vanilla, wood spice and high cocoa dark chocolate. The tannin structure is spot on; firm, fine and lingering. Whole bunch (15%) and new oak (30%) are gauged to perfection. Give it a vigorous decant if you're dipping in already..." Drink 2019-2029.

Allen Meadows, www.burghound.com, Issue 41, 2012
"Moderate reduction blocks a fair evaluation of the nose but there is good richness and volume to the generous medium-bodied flavors blessed with a healthy amount of dry extract that buffers the moderately oaked, long and velvety finish. This should be good as there is more than enough material to absorb the wood."
