Campbell Mattinson and Gary Walsh, The Big Red Wine Book 2010/2011
“Vinous rather than just fruity. Tastes like real wine, and by that we mean that there’s just something to the taste that makes this seem uber-natural. It’s spicy, liquoricey, has hints of savoury stalk and a good ooze of blackberry. It’s medium weight, dry and spicy, with good tannin. Nothing here is over the top.

James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2011
"From a single site at Wilyabrup, this is a distinguished wine, its texture and structure superb; the flavours are in a dark plum and black cherry spectrum, lifting and lilting on the finish and aftertaste, oak and tannins in perfect unison."

Tim Wildman MW, August 2010
"The joint venture between Pascal Marchand, a Burgundian, and Jeff Burch, Howard Park, was new to me when I tasted the wines at Howard Park's tasting room in Margaret River. I have to confess to being utterly seduced by both of these wines; the chardonnay displays an exotic, perfumed note that seems to extend beyond the sensory boundaries normally occupied by fruit and oak, a sort of ultra-sensory experience that appeals to the senses and the mind, and are both very alluring and delicious but also hard to pin down and define. I'm told that Pascal bottles according to biodynamic principles, well whatever he does he has brought an 'X' factor to these varietals that all too often become familiar experiences. Similarly the shiraz stands out as far as exotic. Finely detailed and seductively attractive aromas. Both wines are light on the palate, finely detailed, pure, vivid and ultimately delicious drinking. Australia: more like this please!"
