Taste the NEW Marchand & Burch releases with Pascal Marchand & Jeff Burch at The Prince Wine Store, Melbourne
Saturday 17th April 2010

Pascal Marchand and Jeff Burch will both be in the store on Saturday to present all the new releases including Chardonnay, two single vineyard Pinots from WA as well as an 2007 Meursault and Gevrey Chambertin. These are excellent wines and we look forward to seeing you this weekend.

"This is a joint venture between Canadian-born and Burgundian-trained Pascal Marchand, and the Burch family of Howard Park. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and a little shiraz from the Margaret River and Great Southern regions of Western Australia is to be followed by Gevrey Chambertin and Chambertin Close de Beze from Burgundy. A thoroughly interesting business, with some inspired Chardonnay in its first releases." - JAMES HALLIDAY, Australian Wine companion 2010

"There's something elusive and ethereal about these Marchand & Burch pinots - they had us mesmerised." CAMPBELL MATTINSON AND GARY WALSH, The Big Red Wine Book

The Press Club is excited to be joining forces with Pascal Marchand, Claude and Emmanuelle Giraud for a special evening to raise funds and awareness for the Fight Cancer Foundation. www.fightcancer.org.au/

After 15 years running Le Clos des Epeneaux in Pommard, Pascal Marchand was instrumental in the formation of Domaine de la Vougeraie; the largest domaine created since World War II. Today Pascal is responsible for the wines of Domaine Jean Féry and his own Burgundian micro wine business based in Nuits-St-George in addition to ongoing consulting work with such wineries as Carlei, Prancing Horse and Marchand and Burch.

The Fight Cancer Foundation provides care, treatment and support for cancer patients and their families, and funds research into finding a cure and better treatment methods.

Lunch @ Bistro Vue in Melbourne with Masterchef Shannon Bennett and Pascal Marchand

Wednesday 14th April 2010

"This lunch promises to be one of our best ever, with the exceptional wines of renowned Burgundian producer Pascal Marchand from his Burgundy & West Australian vineyards matched to a superb 3 course menu created by chef extraordinaire Shannon Bennett in the private dining room at Bistro Vue. Marchand & Burch is a very exciting joint venture between Jeff Burch (Howard Park wines) and the brilliant Pascal Marchand, with the wines made so far receiving enormous critical acclaim.

We are absolutely delighted Pascal Marchand will be joining us to show the new releases of the Marchand and Burch wines. This lunch will be the debut performance of the 2009 Marchand and Burch Chardonnay, (the 2008 vintage was Halliday’s equal top-scoring Chardonnay in Australia, an amazing feat in only its second release) and the two single vineyard Pinot Noirs from 2009. These wines are putting Great Southern on the map for Pinot Noir, redefining expectations of what can be achieved with Pinot Noir in Western Australia’s cool south-east. These wines will be matched with a stunning Mersault & Gevrey Chambertin Pascal has produced, and there are a couple of other surprises. An event not to be missed..."
